Mercury is spending its retrograde in a part of the zodiac that is extremely active this year: the last degrees of Pisces and the first degrees of Aries. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, while Aries is the first. The pairing of this sign highlights the relationship between receptivity and activity, between being and doing. Mercury’s span of time in these signs invites us to do less talking and more listening. We must also silence the chatter so that we can hear our inner guidance about what steps to take next.

As we journey through the first few months of 2025, we're approaching a powerful eclipse season that will stir up potent energies within us. This March, we'll experience a Lunar Eclipse in Virgo on the 14th, followed by a Solar Eclipse in Aries on the 29th. The lunar eclipse continues the 2-year series in the Pisces/Virgo polarity which began last September. The solar eclipse marks the final eclipse in the Aries/Libra series.

With the upcoming eclipse of October 14th, the shadow side of Libra is more likely to show up. The invitation is to become aware of our own Libra shadow behaviors, and to release them. Within our closest one-on-one relationships, we need to push ourselves to be honest about what might be bothering us, and what we want—even if it upsets the lovely Libran illusion of peace.

The Aries Eclipse of April 19th features the sun and moon next to (conjunct) Jupiter in Aries. Jupiter magnifies what it touches, and so this solar eclipse / new moon in Aries is especially potent. It’s also notable that this is the second new moon in Aries in a row–a somewhat infrequent event. So, we are getting an extra dose of Aries energy. Aries themes are:

• Starting something new

• Facing fears

• Taking action

• Owning desires

For the collective, whatever sign Jupiter is in reveals the path to finding vision, optimism, faith, confidence, and opportunity. Jupiter in Aries invites us to expand our world through new endeavors. Aries is bold, passionate, and assertive. Embodying these qualities will help each of us to reconnect with faith in ourselves.

In my previous post on Chiron in Aries, I focused on the qualities of this placement for the collective. For all of us, Chiron in Aries will be bringing forward themes of self-confidence and courage. I also shared my experience as a natal Chiron-in-Aries person. This post will focus on Chiron in Aries as it relates to each Sun Sign.

Chiron dipped into Aries for part of 2018 (April – September) and in February of 2019 solidly entered Aries where it will remain until 2026. Chiron’s passage through Aries will push each of us to claim who we are.
