Pisces Power: March and April 2022
We are currently at the end of “Pisces Season,” the yearly period when the Sun is traveling through Pisces. This one is ending on March 20th when the Sun enters Aries (aka Spring Equinox). However, we are in an ongoing time of heightened Pisces Power during most of March and through much of April.
Here are the planets and the dates they are moving through Pisces:
Sun in Pisces (started February 18th and ends March 20th)
Mercury in Pisces (March 9th - March 27th)
Venus in Pisces (April 5th - May 2nd)
Mars in Pisces (April 14th - May 24th)
Jupiter in Pisces all of March and April (conjunct Neptune in Pisces on April 12th)
Neptune in Pisces (has been since 2011 and will be until 2025)
As you can see, there will be a rolling overlap of planets in Pisces (with Sun and Moon joining at times) for much of the rest of March and even more in April.
How can we go with the flow of all this Pisces?
For that is in fact what Pisces is about: Going with the flow. As the last sign of the zodiac, it is about endings. It points to the need for release, surrender, and letting go.
Pisces is also about our connection with what is beyond this world. The prominence of Pisces and the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction points to a general increase in sensitivity and psychic awareness. With so much Pisces, we’ll be extra dreamy during this time. The shadow side of Pisces is also about needing to escape, tune out, or numb out. This is because we are easily overwhelmed when Pisces energy abounds. We can avoid the shadow expression by being aware of our needs in the moment and taking good care of ourselves before we reach for the (entire) bottle of wine.
So how can we take care of ourselves?
Here are some suggestions as to how to work with these energies throughout the rest of March and April:
Be aware of your body’s need for rest and recuperation. We need restorative, deep sleep so that our unconscious has a chance to process all that our conscious minds have to struggle with throughout the day. Make sleep a priority, and if you are having sleep issues, address them. For it is in sleep that we dream…
Experiment with keeping a dream journal (if you don’t do so already). If you have trouble remembering your dreams, try setting the intention before going to sleep: “I will remember my dreams.” Watch for any repeated themes in the dreams. Ask yourself: What might these repeated themes be trying to tell me?
Take some quiet and contemplative time for journaling, and ask yourself: What do I need to release in my life right now? Have a pen and paper ready, and write whatever comes to you. Don’t analyze it. Just be curious.
Do a Release Ritual. This can be most powerfully done between the evening of March 28th and the evening of March 30th, during the Dark Moon in Pisces. You can do a simple ritual such as writing what you’d like to release, then burning the piece of paper. Or, you can send the energy of what you are releasing into a stone, and drop the stone into a stream or river.
What makes a ritual powerful is your intention combined with the symbolic physical act. Be present, trust, and be willing to let go of the rational mind for the time you are doing the ritual. In this way, you are also connecting to the Piscean realm – that of magic and mystery.
I’ll be writing next month more specifically about the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Pisces. Stay tuned!
